Stewart Creek Park

Stewart Creek Park is a 65-acre recreational park located along the shoreline of Lewisville Lake. It features a large playground area, basketball court, a pavilion available for rental, picnic tables, BBQ grills, sand volleyball, swim beach area, a fishing pier, restrooms, three lane boat ramp with courtesy dock, tent and RV camping and plenty of parking. Check with the gate attendant upon entry for information regarding the complimentary life jacket rental program. 

FISHING

The Colony Public Library has partnered with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Tackle Loaner Program to bring visitors the opportunity to check out fishing rods and tackle for free. For more details, please read the program information sheet or call the library at 972-625-1900, ext. 2.

FISHING TIPS & STRATEGIES

  • Catfish - Found near the 'old' Lake Dallas area
  • Hybrids - Found in the main lake and around humps and ridges near Hickory Creek
  • Largemouth Bass - Found in coves or along the shoreline and around structures - primarily timber
  • White Bass - Sometimes referred to as sand bass, found mainly in the open lake during summer and off of points; specific locations better identified by following gulls
  • White Crappie - Found in brushy areas and around boat docks, marinas and bridges crossing the arms of the lake

Entry

Stewart Creek Park is a paid entrance park. A daily permit can be purchased at the park, and annual permits can be purchased either at the park or at the The Colony Recreation Center. The daily permit receipt should be displayed on your vehicle dashboard at all times. Annual permits are not valid for special events held at the park. Proof of residency is required to receive resident discounts. ONLY credit card payments are accepted at Stewart Creek Park. If you'd like to purchase an annual permit using cash or check, you can do so at The Colony Recreation Center during normal business hours.
