The Colony Attractions - Nature Trails
Escape the noise of the busy city and immerse yourself in an oasis flourishing with butterflies, wild flowers, birds and captivating countryside views. All our trails will charm you with effortless beauty rich in color. All nature lovers, runners, cyclists, hikers and dog-walkers are welcome. Austin Ranch Trail The Austin Ranch trail connects The Colony’s trail system to the trail systems in Plano and Carrollton and will ultimately link into Lewisville and Frisco for a continuous 73-mile round-trip pedestrian loop that connects all five cities. Park Loop Trail The Park Loop Trail winds through The Colony and will connect eleven parks and six schools once completed. Start your adventure in the Legends development, make your way through Slay Baker Park and continue up to North Colony Blvd. enjoying a plethora of scenic views and historical landmarks of The Colony. Shoreline Trail The Colony Shoreline Trail features a 10 foot wide, 3.5 mile, stamped concrete and decomposed granite surface perfect for enjoying a walk, jog or bike ride along the beautiful shores of Lewisville Lake. Rustic bridges along the trail allow visitors to enjoy beautiful natural scenery and native wildlife. In addition, interpretive signage along the trail provides information about the flora, fauna and history of the area. Trailheads (trail starting point) are located at Ridgepoint Park (4401 Standridge Dr.) and right outside the entrance to Stewart Creek Park (3700 Sparks Rd.). |
